Gubernatorial Candidate Alan Caron Will Lead a Discussion on the Future of Rural Maine at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House of Pittsfield

Alan Caron, an independent candidate for governor, will lead a discussion on building lasting prosperity in rural Maine at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House of Pittsfield on Friday, March 2.

Caron has been involved in these discussions for the better part of four decades. In 2002, he founded Grow Smart Maine, a nonprofit organization focused on building Maine’s economy without sacrificing the quality of life that defines Maine. In 2009, Caron shifted his focus to supporting entrepreneurs, innovators, visionaries and doers to accelerate the growth of Maine’s next economy through the creation of Envision Maine.

Caron also facilitated the Brooking Institute’s publication Charting Maine’s Future, which concludes that Maine must support the state’s outstanding quality of place and most promising industrial clusters while also streamlining government to free up resources. .

Join us in Pittsfield for the discussion. The event begins with socializing and light refreshments at 5:30 p.m. Caron will begin his talk at 6:00 p.m. He will provide ample time to listen to the public and gather ideas for strengthening Maine’s rural communities.
